POWerful Words Teacher Appreciation Week Event
We had 16 teachers attend
and this was our 1st time running the event.
Students loved it, Parents loved it, Teachers LOVED it!
We're considering running it twice next year. Once in the fall and
then again in the spring.
The entire experience was great. We weren't sure what the turnout
would be, but we were happy with what we got.
The kids who forgot to
invite their teachers were pretty upset when the other students'
teachers arrived, so I'm sure they'll remember to invite them next year.
We timed the event to match up with our Kids Safe Bully Week at the
school, so teachers who came in saw us in action with the kids and also
saw that our program really is more then just kicking and punching.
I
collected their contact info and am currently working to bring our
bullying program into their classes.
We'll also be sending in Sensei
Arango's "What a Teacher Makes" story in a simple frame as a "Thank
You", along with more info on our school programs.
All in all a great event. Press release went out a few days ago and I'm
hoping to see some media exposure on it as well!

I have to admit it. Only the children and vigilant parents who were part of our programs knew that we taught a great character development program. I'm always trying to get feedback from students and parents as to what makes my school successful. There are two major areas that are working beyond anything I could have hoped for...
1) Get rid of the instructor ego and treat students and parents with the same respect i want to be treated with.
